This extremely low mileage RX8 is quite superb throughout having covered only 20000 miles from new by one Japanese owner and with a full service history. Mazda's RX8 was the replacement for the long lived and much loved RX7. Introduced in 2003 the car is stunning from any angle and is unique in that it combines superb sports coupe looks with 4 doors and seats that can actually be four adults in comfortably. The newly developed freestyle door system allows a compact looking sports style cabin in combination with the convenience of easy access to all seats.The rear door-opening angle is also set to optimally reduce the effort of door opening. In the RX8 it was offered in both standard (192 BHP) and hi-power (231 BHP) versions. The high power version in Japan has 255BHP. Performance figures for the 192 BHP version, which has a 5 speed gearbox area top speed of 139MPH with a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds while the 231 BHP has a 148 top speed and 0-60 of 5.9 seconds. Combined fuel consumption is around 25 MPG for the 231 and 27MPG for the 192. The design detail in various areas of the RX8 represents the rotary engine with the gear knob, headrest, rear brake light and engine cover reproduce the shape of the internal components of the rotary engine. Mazdas designers have achieved a perfect 50/50 weight distribution by setting the compact rotary engine low behind the front wheels and the petrol tank in front of the rear wheels. This, along with the advanced on board electronic systems gives the car superb road holding and handling. Dynamic Stability Control will both enhance your driving and act as an active safety feature. It monitors your wheel speeds, steering angles, braking function and yaw rate and applies brake force accordingly to one or more wheels, helping to reduce engine output and prevent skids.
